Our Junior Tennis Philosophy
Tennis is an incredible sport that every player can find success and fulfillment in. While often thought of as an "individual" sport, we believe creating a team/group environment is crucial for tennis players development and overall enjoyment of the game. We help each player find the pathway best suited for them and their goals.
There are three core pillars in our foundation.
CLINICS: Our programs offer clinics for all ages and abilities, typically starting at the age of 4. Clinics offer valuable instruction in a small group setting. This allows for individual attention and most importantly, having other players to learn alongside. Young players develop lasting friendships in our clinics, and these relationships are so important in players overall experience. TENNIS IS FUN!! A typical clinic would include a group warmup, stroke/skill development followed by point/game play.
LESSONS: Private and Semi-Private lessons are the best way to learn the game in a personalized setting. Every tennis player is different, and we treat our private lessons as an opportunity to maximize technical improvement for each player. Having good technique allows players to develop at an exponentially faster rate, and forming good habits from an early age is crucial to player development.
PLAY OPTIONS: It is essential that clinics and lessons are supplemented by play options. What is a play option? Any form of point play and match play competition. This could mean an inter-club round robin or league, USTA Team Challenge, High School match, UTR Tournament and so on. The rankings and results are not what matter; it's about understanding how your game reacts to pressure situations. These experiences will help shape your clinics and lessons; now you are applying the skills and technique you learned in practice into a matchplay situation.
Numerous Pathways
Every player has different goals, and it's important for parents to understand that success in tennis can mean many things. Below are a just a few examples of junior pathways that we encourage.
